Africa Agenda

In the month before the Africaday there are several events on Africa and African culture. Discussions, musical performances and other activities are organized throughout the Netherlands. So get in the Africa mood!

From the 11th of March until the 29th of May you can swing with the Daugthers of Africa.  The musical show, Daughters of Africa, offers promising women from 9 different African countries an opportunity to show their skills on stage. These vital young African women, who fill every place with a positive vibe, will perform in a spectacular show with music that has African roots as well as contemporary spirit. Their performance is a good example of the way in which art and culture can make difficult topics more easy to discuss.

From 1 April to 31 October in the Afrika Museum in Berg en Dal: how the Kasena of northern Ghana design their dwellings. Songo shows the construction process of the house and introduces visitors to its residents. In an architecture that is created without a plan, text or language, it is the everyday actions of women that continuously create the house.

Below you find an overview of several events on Africa until the end of April. Is there an event missing, let us know and we will add it.
