The workshop programme is the main attraction at the Africaday; more than 50 debates, lectures and culture workshops about themes related to Africa and development cooperation.
Themes can be political, informative and/or discuss current events and with different perspectives and possibly new views. Moreover, you can actively take part in workshops containing African film, djembe, art and cooking.
The workshop programme is divided into two parts:
The morning programme from 11.15 until 12.45 am and the afternoon programme from 2.15 until 3.45 pm. In both morning and afternoon programme more than 25 workshop will be provided.
This year there will be various subjects discussed. Of course you will be able to participate actively and share your opinion and experiences. You can talk with Lovemore Matombo, the leader of the Zimbabwean Trade Union about 30 years of independence in Zimbabwe or discuss about topics as climate change in Africa, elections in Sudan or Rwanda, journalism in Africa and education in conflict-countries.
In addition a broad cultural programme is available at the Africaday 2010. You can watch the documentary Getting Justice and discuss afterwards with a legal expert, play djembe on African music or learn how to make a delicious African meal.
The day will finish off with a swinging musical performance of the Daughters of Africa.
All in all, the Africaday 2010 has a wide-ranging and varying programme!
