About the Africaday
What is the connection between green energy production and landgrab in Africa? What are the views from Africa on the International Criminal Court? What are the dynamics of the upcoming elections in Ghana? These questions and more will be the topics of discussion during the Africaday. The place to discuss and reflect on the latest social, economic, political developments, development aid and international cooperation in and with Africa.

The idea behind the Africaday is simple: to create an event for a broad audience interested in Africa and international cooperation. The Evert Vermeer Stichting has been organizing public events about these issues for over 20 years and has created a space for students, the African Diaspora, NGO’s, politicians, academics and policymakers to exchange thoughts and experiences concerning the development of Africa. These days the Africaday is the largest event in the Netherlands of its kind, with over 100 international and local guest speakers, 100 collaborating organizations and many volunteers. The Africaday draws around 2000 visitors each year.
